REVO DPU Application
Advanced solution for special loads, offering better control and protection by managing up to 24 REVO C or REVEX units via a synchronization and communication module
CD Automation’s technological excellence for the optimization and efficiency of complex power systems.
By pairing a dedicated synchronization module with the REVO C and REVEX series intelligent power controllers, the system drastically expands their operational functions through synergistic and intelligent management:
- Start-up phase optimization: Single-phase and three-phase units can perform start-up in phase angle mode (with soft start and current limit) to protect the load and reduce the initial inrush currents typical of special loads. Once this phase is complete, the system automatically switches to synchronized burst firing mode, ensuring maximum stability and energy efficiency.
- Maximum reliability (Single Loop Integrity): Service continuity is guaranteed. Since the synchronization module is physically separated from the individual power controllers, the system maintains single loop integrity; if necessary, the controllers can be quickly replaced using a single standard spare part.
- Flexibility and modularity: The system manages up to 24 single-phase or three-phase loads via a dedicated bus and is fully compatible with REVO C and REVEX< (1-2-3PH) units with currents from 30 to 2100A.
- Suitable for distributed solutions: Maximum installation freedom. The synchronization bus alone is sufficient to connect and coordinate units installed in separate electrical cabinets.
- Native connectivity and Fieldbus options: Includes a standard Modbus TCP port, with Profinet, EtherCAT, or Ethernet IP communication options for power setpoint control and real-time reading of the main electrical variables.
- Integrated Backup systems: To ensure maximum operational safety, the units maintain an analog input and/or a second communication port on board, which can be used as backup channels in case of emergency.

Hardware Architecture Specifications: REVO PC DPU
The heart of the system lies in the perfect synergy between an intelligent control unit and the power modules in the field. While setpoint management and the optimization algorithm are centralized, precise current measurement and actuation remain distributed across the individual REVO C or REVEX units. The system flexibly acquires power setpoints from multiple sources, such as multi-zone temperature controllers, PLCs, or HMIs.

Control Unit (REVO PC)
- Management capacity: Centralized control of up to 24 channels (up to 24 single-phase or three-phase SCR modules).
- Calculation speed: Adjustment and synchronization algorithm every 0.5 seconds.
- Measurement precision: Integrated high-precision current and voltage transducers.
- Standard Connectivity: RS485 Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP ports included as standard.
- Optional Fieldbuses: Support for Ethernet IP, EtherCAT, and Profinet protocols.
Power Unit (REVO C / REVEX)
- Supported models: Advanced SCR power controllers in REVO C (1-2-3PH) or REVEX (1-2-3PH) versions.
- Configuration flexibility: Ability to combine up to 24 mixed single-phase or three-phase units within the same system.
- Power and safety range: Currents from 30 to 2100A, maximum operating voltages of 480V – 600V – 690V, and built-in ultra-fast internal fuse.
- Interconnection: Proprietary 2-wire communication between the REVO DPU and the power units, used for continuous reading of operating parameters.
- Selectable firing types: Native support for Burst Firing and Phase Angle modes (the latter available exclusively on 1PH and 3PH units).
- Grid efficiency: Dynamic load distribution and optimization management to minimize peak absorption.
