SiC elements 1PH connection
Silicon carbide is a semiconductor material and has a much higher resistivity than metal resistance materials. The resistivity at ambient temperature is quite high, and decreases with increasing temperature to a minimum value of about 600-900°C; at element temperatures above 900°C the resistivity increases with increasing temperature. Therefore it is necessary to regulate the constant power with a feedback of V to VxI transfer. On three-phase loads with Silicon Carbide it is suggested to use a feedback in VxI to obtain a constant power regulation. This is necessary to compensate for changes in the resistance value with the temperature and age of the elements. The value at the end of their use is four times the initial value. CD Automation can control this type of resistors with REVO C or REVEX 1PH.
